சிலர் விரும்பியது நடக்கப் போகிறது. சிலர் பயந்ததும் நிகழப்
போகிறது. சசிகலா தமிழ் நாட்டின் முதல் அமைச்சர் ஆகப் போகிறார். அதிமுக-வின் தமிழக எம்.எல்.ஏக்கள்
அவரை சட்டமன்ற கட்சித் தலைவராகத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து, அந்த வைபவம் அரங்கேற வழி செய்திருக்கிறார்கள்.
அதை முன்னிட்டு பன்னீர்செல்வமும் தனது முதல் அமைச்சர் பதவியை ராஜினாமா செய்திருக்கிறார்.
தனக்குப் பிறகு அதிமுக-வின் பொதுச் செயலாளராகவும் தமிழகத்தின்
முதல்வராகவும் சசிகலா வரவேண்டும் என்று மறைந்த ஜெயலலிதா விரும்பி இருப்பாரா? இல்லை,
அப்படி எதுவும் நடக்கக் கூடாது என்றுதான் முப்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேல் தன்னுடன் நெருங்கி
இருந்தாலும் சசிகலாவுக்குக் கட்சியிலும் ஆட்சியிலும் அவர் எப்போதும் பதவி கொடுக்கவில்லை. பதவி ஏதும்
கொடுத்தால் சசிகலா மெள்ள மெள்ள தனக்குப் போட்டியாக கட்சிக்குள் வளரலாம் என்றுகூட ஜெயலலிதா
நினைத்திருக்கலாம். எதுவாக இருந்தாலும், ஜெயலலிதா சசிகலாவுக்கு எந்தப் பதவியும் கொடுக்கவில்லை. அப்படியானால், ஜெயலலிதா இருந்தவரை அவரிடம் அடங்கி
ஒடுங்கி அவர் புகழ் பாடிய அதிமுக எம்.எல்.ஏக்கள், அவர் மறைவுக்குப் பின் ஏன் சசிகலாவின்
இத்தகைய ஏற்றத்திற்கு உடன்படுகிறார்கள்? இதற்கான பதிலைத் தெளிவாகப் புரிந்துகொள்ள காங்கிரஸ்
கட்சியின் ஒரு கடந்த கால நிகழ்சியைப் பார்த்துவிட்டு வரலாம்.
பிரதமர் ஜவஹர்லால் நேரு மறைந்த பிறகு அவரின் தனி உதவியாளர்
எவரும் - நேருவுடன் சேர்ந்து அவரும் சிறை சென்றிருந்தாலும் - இந்தியாவின் பிரதமராக
ஆகி இருக்க முடியாது, அப்படி நடக்கவும் இல்லை.
நேருவும் அதை நினைத்துப் பார்த்திருக்க முடியாது. நேருவை விடக் கட்சியில் அதிக அதிகாரத்துடன் இருந்த
ஜெயலலிதாவும் அது மாதிரியான ஒரு தலைமை மாற்றத்தைத் தன் கட்சியிலும் விரும்பாத போது,
அது அதிமுக-வில் நடக்கிறது. அதற்கு ஒரே காரணம்
நேருவின் காங்கிரஸில் ஜனநாயகம் இருந்தது, ஜெயலலிதாவின் அதிமுக-வில் அது இல்லை. நேருவின்
காங்கிரஸில் ஜனநாயகம் தழைக்க நேருவின் பங்களிப்பும் ஒரு முக்கிய காரணம். ஜெயலலிதாவின் அதிமுக-வில் ஜனநாயகம் நலிய ஜெயலலிதாவே
காரணமாக இருந்தார்.
பழைய காலத்துக் காங்கிரஸ் கட்சி நேருவின் மறைவுக்குப் பின்
நாட்டு நன்மையையும் கட்சியின் ஜனநாயகப் பண்புகளையும் கருத்தில் கொண்டு, லால் பகதூர்
சாஸ்திரியை அடுத்த பிரதமராகத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தது. தான் பிரதமராக இருக்கும்போதே இறந்தால், ஆட்சியில்
தலைமை மாற்றம் நேர்வது இந்த முறையில்தான் அமையவேண்டும் என்பது நேருவின் விருப்பமாகவும்
இருந்திருக்கும். எதேச்சாதிகாரம் மிகுந்த ஜெயலலிதாவின்
அதிமுக-வில், எதேச்சாதிகார அதிபதியும் அவரை அண்டியிருக்கும் அடுத்த கட்டத் தலைவர்களும்
தனக்கு எது பிடிக்குமோ, அதற்கு எது உகந்ததோ – ஆதிக்கம் செலுத்துவதோ, அதன் கீழ் தழைப்பதோ
– அதைத்தான் செய்வார்கள். அந்தக் கட்சியின்
அதிபதி மறைந்தபின் அதன் அடுத்த கட்டத் தலைவர்கள் கட்சியில் எந்த மனிதரின் கீழ் சேவகம்
செய்து தாங்கள் நிலைப்பதும் தங்கள் நலனைக் காப்பாற்றுவதும் சுலபமோ, அவரைத்தான் தலைவராகக்
கொண்டாடுவார்கள், ஆதரிப்பார்கள். ஆகவே சசிகலா முடிந்தவரை அடுத்த அதிபதியாக இருக்க ஆசைப்
படுவதும், எம்.எல்.ஏக்களும் மற்ற தலைவர்களும் அவர் தலைமையை ஏற்பதும், அவர்களின் மாறாத இயற்கை குணங்கள். இருந்தாலும் ஜெயலலிதா பெற்றிருந்த தனிப்பட்ட மக்கள் செல்வாக்கில்
சிறிதளவும் பெறாதவர்கள் மற்ற அதிமுக-வினர், சசிகலா உட்பட. ஜெயலலிதாவுக்குப் பின் அவர் அமைத்த ஆட்சியை அதிமுக-வில்
யார் முதல்வராகித் தொடர்ந்தாலும், திக்-திக் மனதோடுதான் ஆட்சி செய்யவேண்டும். யார் காலை எவர் எப்போது வாருவார்களோ?
பல விமரிசகர்களும், சில எதிர்க் கட்சித் தலைவர்களும் சசிகலாவைவிட
பன்னீர்செல்வம் முதல் அமைச்சர் பதவிக்குத் தகுதியானவர், பன்னீர்செல்வமே தொடரலாம் என்று
சொல்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அவர் ஒரு சாதுவான கைப்பாவையாகத்தான் விரும்பிச் செயல்படுவார். ஏற்கனவே ஜெயலலிதாவின் நிழலாக முதல் அமைச்சர் பதவியில்
இருந்த மாதிரி, இப்போது சசிகலாவின் சார்பாகத்தான் அந்தப் பதவியில் இருப்பேன் என்று
அவரே தெளிவாகத் தன்னைக் காண்பித்திருக்கிறார். அசல் நடிகரே கேமராவுக்கு முன் வந்து நடிக்கிறேன்
என்கிறபோது டூப் நடிகர் எதற்கு?
இன்னொரு விஷயம்.
சோனியா காந்தியின் பிரதிநிதியாக மன்மோகன் சிங் பிரதமராக இருந்தபோது, பின்னால்
இருந்தவரின் மருமகன் மீது எவ்வளவு ஊழல் மற்றும் நில அபகரிப்பு குற்றச் சாட்டுகள் வந்தன? பன்னீர்செல்வம் முதல் அமைச்சராகத் தொடர்ந்தால் தமிழ்நாட்டில்
அது மாதிரியான குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் பலர்மீதும் எழத்தானே செய்யும், அவை எளிதில் வெளிச்சத்துக்கு
வராத தடுப்புக் கவசமாகத் தானே அவரும் இருக்க நேரிடும்? ஆகையால் சசிகலாவுக்குப் பதில் பன்னீர்செல்வம் முதல்வராக
– அதாவது சசிகலாவின் சொல்பேச்சைக் கேட்கும் முதல்வராக – இருக்கட்டும் என்பதில் அர்த்தமில்லை.
‘எனக்குப் பிடித்தமானவர் எதேச்சாதிகாரியாக இருந்தால் பரவாயில்லை.
அவரைப் போற்றுவேன். ஆனால் எனக்குப் பிடிக்காதவர்
அப்படியாக வந்தால் நான் எதிர்ப்பேன்’ என்று பரவலாகப் பல மக்களும் அப்பாவித்தனமாக எண்ணுகிறார்கள். மக்களின்
அந்த எண்ணம் மாறும் வரை, அரசியல் சட்டம் அளிக்கும் ஜனநாயகம் அவர்களுக்குச் சிறிய நன்மைகளே
தரும். எதேச்சாதிகாரர்களுக்கும், அவரைச் சார்ந்தவர்களுக்கும், அவரைப் போற்றும் கட்சியினருக்கும்தான்
பெரு நன்மைகள் செய்யும். இது எதோ ஜெயலலிதாவையும்
அதிமுக-வையும் மட்டும் நினைத்து சொல்லப் படுவதில்லை. வேறு பல தமிழக கட்சிகளுக்கும், வெளி மாநில கட்சிகளுக்குகும்
இது பொருந்தும். இன்றைய காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியே
வருத்தம் தரும் உதாரணம்.
’எல்லாம் சரி. சொத்துக் குவிப்பு வழக்கில் சுப்ரீம் கோர்ட்டின்
தீர்ப்பு எப்போதும் வரலாமே, அது சசிகலா முதல் அமைச்சராகத் தொடர்வதற்குத் தடையாக இருக்கலாமே?’,
என்று யாராவது கேட்டால், சசிகலா ஆதரவாளர்களின் மனதில் இப்படி ஒரு பதில் ஓடலாம்: “ஒன்றும்
பிரச்சனை இல்லை. சமத்தான ஒரு டூப் முதல்வரை அமர்த்திவிட்டு, சசிகலா தியாகி பட்டம் வாங்கிக்
கொள்ளலாம். நமது ஜனநாயகத்தில், சாதாரண மனிதராக
இருக்கும் ஒருவர் சிறை சென்றுவந்து, பின்னர் முதல் அமைச்சர் ஆவது கடினம். ஆனால் ஒரு பெரிய பதவியில் இருக்கும் போதே அவர் சிறை
செல்ல நேர்ந்தால், பதவியைத் துறந்த தியாகி என்ற பெயரோடு அவருக்கும் அவர் கட்சிக்கும்
தேர்தல்களில் ஆதரவு பெருகும். பின்னர் அவர்
வெளிவந்து தேர்தலில் போட்டியிடும் போதுகூட, பலரையும் எம்.எல்.ஏ-க்கள் ஆக்கி அவரும்
முதல் அமைச்சர் ஆவது நிச்சயம்!” எனது ஊகம்
உங்களுக்கும் தோன்றினால் புன்னகைப்பீர்கள்.
இல்லை என்றால் முகம் சுளிப்பீர்கள். எது உங்கள் முகபாவம்?

ReplyDeleteநீங்கள் சொல்வது முழுக்க முழுக்க உண்மை. ஒருவரை முன்னணியில் நிற்க வைத்து, பின்னணி விளையாட்டுகளைக் காட்டி, முன்னணியில் இருப்பவரின் பெயரைக் கெடுப்புவதற்கு பதிலாக, பின்னணியில இருப்பவரே முன்னின்று மக்கள் பார்லையில் வெளிப்படையாக விளையாடட்டுமே.
ReplyDeleteYour observation is true. But I defer with the projections drawn between Congress as democatic and Aiadmk. In politics my observation is no political party has any basic ethics what so ever... Only attraction is power and money. This was demonstrated by Indira Gandhi (emergency) and later by its family taking control of position. I use to wonder why people join political organisations or stay close to a political leader!! I realize most of the time it for position or protective cover for their business. In Sasikala Case the main attraction is the money this organization has accumulated over time. To be a controller of this wealth and to save herself from external threats there is a genuine need, for her to stay on power. On becoming chief minister she will give few strokes of populistic schemes like closing all tasmac shops on day one and become the champion amongst women voters and win the popularity of the herd attitude people. Yes man attitude is prevalent in many organisation and in almost any field because of greed for Power, position and accumulate unlimited wealth...

As rightly said by you we voted for the personality of a single leader who headed the party autocratically leaving no second in command. Sasikala's days are numbered. There may be a rising revolt. wait and watch.
ReplyDeleteWhen Rajiv Gandhi became PM after Indira no one raised their eyebrows as by then the concept of dynasty rule had been established in the minds of the people - After Nehru, his daughter and after her, her son and so on. The congress would have been happier if Sonia had taken over the reins instead of Manmohan but she could not, thanks to the intervention of President Dr Kalam.
ReplyDeleteNow, in Tamilnadu, if Jayalalitha had an issue or a close family member, then the people would have accepted that person to be her successor. The attempts being made by Deepa to gain popularity is not very successful because people never knew her before. Two facts in favour of Sasikala are that she has inherited the properties of Jayalalitha (by fair or foul means) and entrenched herself in Poes garden house of Jayalalitha and for the common man or the faithful party worker, that is the queen's palace and she is the inheritor of the queen's legacy and hence there is nothing wrong. The second is that those legislators who were handpicked by her and given party tickets owe allegience to her which clout the other contenders for the post like Paneerselvam cannot break. Perhaps if he had continued for say six months or so, he could have weaned them away and that is the reason why Sasikala is in such a haste to crown herself.
Those who are active in the social media making fun of her and signing petitions will find other more interesting things to do once she is sworn in and gets into the grove. Her partymen will continue to fall at her feet to gain her attention and make hay when the sun shines and the people will forget the whole episode for another three and a half years or so till the next election is due.
All this, if she survives the court verdict. But as pointed out by Veeru, she will become a Tyagi by abdicating her post and going to prison for the sake of Amma.
Your analogy of 'Actor and Dupe' is perfect. It is reinforced by subsequent turn of events. As long as the Dupe performed his assigned role, the original actor was silent. When the original actor proposed to act on herself, the Dupe's failure to give way, (rather dared to act as the original actor), enraged the Actor.
ReplyDeleteThe concept of democracy is nowhere in our political system. Dynasty sets in and thrives invariably in all parties. The grand old party, Congress which must have set an example for democracy has fallen prey to Dynasty. Not to speak of other parties.
